Kaumbwe PF MP Aaron Mwanza defects to…

Patriotic Front (PF) Kaumbwe Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Aaron Mwanza has defected to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND). Dr Mwanza said the decision was influenced by the good leadership and policies of the UPND government. Dr Mwanza cited President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership, fair distribution of resources, and the unprecedented development recorded in his constituency as contributing factors to his political move.

“The President does not discriminate, he brought me close to work freely and contribute to national development despite being in the opposition. Henceforth, I have decided to defect and I have decided to come with two of my councillors including the constituency chairperson for PF he has also joined. We have now joined the family of progress, the family that has brought development,” he said.

Meanwhile, PF Kaumbwe Constituency Chairperson Goodson Lungu said he defected due to confusions in the party and has pledged to campaign for the UPND. “The way I am known in the constituency is the same way the ruling party will be known. The confusion in my former party has made me decide to follow Dr Mwanzathe and join the ruling party,” he said.

And welcoming the defectors, Eastern Province Minister Peter Phiri, who is also UPND Provincial Chairperson, urged members to work together. “We have just come to welcome our friends who have come from the PF into the UPND. As a community, let us work together for the good of our children and the nation.

I am also appealing to you to support President Hakainde Hichilema,” he said. All PF structures from the five wards of Kaumbwe Constituency, including its leadership, have defected to the ruling UPND. Poverty is real in our part of the world, reason you do not see such drama like defections in developed countries. The ruling party in our part of the world will always control who gets opportunities so it attracts.
