Lovemore Dube,Zimpapers Sports HubKAIZER Chiefs legends Itumeleng Khune and Willard Katsande graced a Gwanda rural stadium official opening of a soccer facility. While the former Amakhosi goalkeeper flew back to Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday morning, Katsande chose to stay behind and watch the Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum Stars match at Barbourfields Stadium. The match ended in a one all stalemate. Katsande revealed later on Sunday that they were in Zimbabwe at the invitation of a businessman who constructed a mini stadium near Manama.“We were invited to be guests at the official launch of a mini stadium near Manama in Gwanda. It was good to be out there to promote football in a way and we hope the next generation of stars can image out of that.“The reason why I stayed behind is that I want to network with football people from Bulawayo.
I have a football school in Johannesburg with lots of kids whose parents are from this city. It is good to be here, I enjoyed the match,” said Katsande in the company of local businessman and councillor Tawengwa Zidya at a local eatery.Share on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
