Kadoma — The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education,Moses Mhike, visited schools in Kadoma to assess infrastructure, teaching practices, and compliance with national education standards as part of the Ministry’s drive to improve education quality across Zimbabwe The visit, which coincided with school reopening day, covered institutions such as Pen Commercial College, Kuredza Government Technical Primary School, Mupamombe Primary School, and Jameson High School The tour aimed to ensure that schools are meeting national benchmarks and fostering environments conducive to academic excellence At Kuredza Government Technical Primary School, Mhike commended the introduction of practical subjects like woodwork and Home Economics, praising the school’s efforts to equip learners with relevant life skills
Meanwhile, Mupamombe Primary School earned recognition for integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into its curriculum “The Ministry is committed to ensuring that every learner receives a high-quality, inclusive education that prepares them for the demands of the modern world,” said Mhike He emphasized the importance of innovation, community involvement, and teacher support in driving educational progress Taungana Ndoro, Director of Communications and Advocacy in the Ministry, echoed this commitment
“Our goal is to ensure every school in Kadoma meets the national standards, offering students a learning environment that fosters excellence We are supporting schools to align with technology and ensure no child or community is left behind,” he said Ndoro applauded the proactive steps schools are taking to embrace digital tools and practical skills training, noting that such initiatives are critical in bridging educational disparities Kuredza School Head Anthony Mapindani highlighted the school’s inclusive approach
