In an interview, ZPYF representative, Mr Thabani Madhlayo said insurance was critical for MSMEs that play a pivotal role in the country’s economy. “The importance of hosting the Insurance and Microfinance Expo in both cities is to ensure that MSMEs from surrounding areas can participate effectively.
This event will allow business leaders to identify the best partners to work with,” he said.
The second edition of the expo is expected to attract over 300 businesses, making it an electrifying space for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services.
It will run under the theme: “Igniting MSMEs Success through Exposing Them to Insurance and Microfinance Products and Services,” and aims to build a sustainable business community.
Participants can look forward to various activities designed to promote brand visibility and encourage interaction.
Entry to the event is free, and youth are especially encouraged to attend, as the expo represents a significant opportunity for them to identify partners in both the insurance and microfinance sectors. “This is a grant opportunity for MSMEs, youth in business, and business leaders to connect with potential partners that can provide solutions to their needs,” Mr Madhlayo added.
The expo will also feature awards for the best exhibitors, recognizing those who go above and beyond in branding, product display, and engagement.
Adjudicators will evaluate participants based on various criteria, including the originality of products and the level of interaction with attendees.
Winners will receive trophies and certificates, as well as opportunities for local and international market exposure.
Access to funding has long been a challenge for MSMEs, particularly for young entrepreneurs who may lack collateral.
ZPYF has partnered with microfinance institutions to facilitate easier access to funding. “We believe we have come to bridge the gap between the microfinance community and the insurance industry.
Our partnerships will ensure that MSMEs have access to affordable insurance, allowing them to thrive,” he explained.
The expo will provide a unique platform for businesses to network and share strategies, fostering an environment where ideas can flourish. “Business leaders and exhibiting companies will gather market needs from various clients, creating a rich tapestry of collaboration,” he noted.
Registration is now open for businesses interested in exhibiting.
Madhlayo encourages all entrepreneurs to take part: “We are inviting all business leaders, youths in business, and MSMEs to come and get their fair share of the expo benefits. ”With its focus on empowering MSMEs and fostering meaningful connections within the business community, the Insurance and Microfinance Expo 2025 is set to be a transformative event. “It’s going to be an expo with a great difference,” Madhlayo concluded, emphasising the importance of these gatherings for the economic landscape of Zimbabwe. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofuShare on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
