AN InDrive driver is counting his losses after he lost his car keys, and money, after giving a sex worker shelter in his cab in the early hours of yesterday morning in Harare. The driver, who chose to remain anonymous, gave the sex worker shelter in his car along Nelson Mandela Avenue in the capital. He claims he fell asleep in his car and the sex worker, who has been identified as Miriam Mahove, allegedly stole his car keys and money.

The driver claimed Mahove demanded US$100 for her to give him back his car keys. This prompted him to seek help from a locksmith who charged him US$30 for a replacement set of keys. Speaking to H-Metro, the driver recounted the events which led to the standoff, which attracted a sizable number of people.

“I was waiting for clients when this lady approached my vehicle around 4 am. “I eventually fell asleep while she sat on the passenger seat. “When I woke up, I realised my car keys were missing and she denied taking them.
