Hulk Hogan, one of the world’s most famous entertainment wrestlers and an enthusiastic Donald Trump supporter, has died at the age of 71.

Hogan suffered a cardiac arrest and emergency responders were called to his home in Clearwater, Florida, where they were unable to revive him, according to TMZ.

The former WWE fighter was rumoured to be unwell earlier this year, apparently suffering from neck problems.

Hogan emerged as a major supporter of Mr Trump during the election campaign,memorably ripping his shirt offat the Republican National Convention (RNC).

Endorsing Mr Trump at the convention, Hogan said: “I’ve been in the ring with some of the biggest, some of the baddest dudes on the planet.

“I know tough guys, but let me tell you something, brother, Donald Trump is the toughest of them all.”

Hogan then ripped off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance T-shirt while yelling: “Let Trumpmania run wild, brother!”

After the wrestler delivered his speech to the RNC, Mr Trump blew him a kiss from his seat.

“The Hulkster, how good is he,” Mr Trump responded.

In a statement, a WWE spokesperson said: “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away.

“One ofpop culture’s most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.
