According to a statement released by Wilderness Search And Rescue (WSAR), the hikers, aged 30 and 39, had begun their hike via Platteklip Gorge earlier in the day and planned to descend using the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.

The operation ended at 19:44, with everyone safely off the mountain. Nel added:”This rescue is a clear example of why careful decision-making and situational awareness are so important in the mountains. Recognising when to stop can make all the difference in preventing accidents and ensuring everyone gets home safely.” “This rescue is a clear example of why careful decision-making and situational awareness are so important in the mountains.
