A family from Kuils River got the shock of their lives when their usual route to work turned violent when they were attacked by an enraged taxi driver in a fit of road rage on Friday morning on Hindle Road. Sedick Adams, 27, his wife and six-month-old daughter were attacked by a Mfuleni taxi driver, who is yet to be arrested, according to police. Video footage of the incident shows the taxi driver angrily trying to open the passenger door and kicking the door where Sedick’s wife was sitting and recording.

The taxi driver then goes around to the driver door where he smashed the window. Sedick explained that as he drove through the green light three taxis forced their way across and a fourth taxi hit his car with the tow bar, damaging his bumper. That’s when he got of the car to check the damage, only for the taxi driver to also get out of his vehicle, who immediately became aggressive and hit me with the fist in the face.

Sedick added: “I defended myself but quickly realised I was surrounded by multiple taxi drivers exiting their vehicles. I attempted to get back into the car. He then jammed me between the door to prevent me from leaving.” “At that point, he noticed my wife recording the incident. He became completely unhinged, shouting that he wanted the phone.
