The High Court has issued an interim injunction restrainingMiles Sampafrom interfering with Patriotic Front (PF) party records and the position ofMorgan Ng’onaas Secretary General. The order comes barely a day after the Court of Appeal dismissed a matter involving Ng’ona, in which he had obtained an injunction restraining Sampa from removing him from the position. The appellate court ruled that the matter had been improperly brought before it.
In a fresh development, the High Court has directed that Sampa must not interfere with Ng’ona’s functions as PF Secretary General or make any changes to the party’s official records held by the Registrar of Societies. According to the interim injunction granted byConceptor Zulu, Sampa—whether acting personally or through agents—is restrained from interfering with Ng’ona’s role pending the determination of the matter. The court has further barred Sampa from making any representations intended to alter the Patriotic Front’s official records relating to office bearers.
A penal notice attached to the order warned that failure to comply could result in contempt of court proceedings and possible imprisonment. “Take notice that in the event that you elect to disobey this order you shall be cited for contempt and committed to prison for breach of this order,” read part of the notice. The matter has been scheduled for inter-parte hearing on May 13, 2026, at 09:00 hours.
