NewsBy Nigel PfundeHarare- The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has on Wednesday arrested Harare deputy mayor Rosemary Muronda and former Harare South MP Shadreck Mashayamombe on allegations of fraud involving the unlawful sale of council land,Express Mail Zim can report.“The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission confirms the arrest of City of Harare Deputy Mayor Councillor Rosemary Muronda and former Harare South Member of Parliament Shadreck Mashayamombe on allegations of fraud involving the unlawful sale of council land,” ZACC spokesperson Simiso Mlevu said in a statement.The pair is assisting ZACC with investigations and will appear in court soon.The commission has dispelled rumours of Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume’s arrest, labeling them false and misleading.Mashayamombe returned from self imposed exile in South Africa after feeling the ‘cold’ out of Zanu PF and like a prodigal son he rejoined the ruling party.He also unprocedurally extended a long lease of a building located along Luck Street in Harare where he pays a mere US$60 as monthly rentals yet his tenants pay between US$300 to US$600 a month.
