Kabompo Member of Parliament Ambrose Lufuma says government remains committed to addressing the shortage of classroom space in schools arising from the free education policy. Mr Lufuma said from the time President Hakainde Hichilema pronounced the free education policy government has seen an increase in the enrolment levels in schools hence the shortage of classroom Space for learners in most schools. He said the UPND government is committed to ensuring that every child attends school in a conducive learning environment by providing infrastructure in schools.
“The President has provided free education, as a result many children have returned to school leading to challenges of classroom space for our learners. As government we remain committed to addressing these challenges,” he said. Mr Lufuma who was accompanied by Kabompo District Commissioner, visited Kamashila day school in Kamafwafwa ward where the construction works of a 1×3 classroom block by the community had stalled and made a donation of 30 bags of cement toward the completion of the classroom block and a K15,000 to facilitate repairs to a borehole in phakasa community of the same ward.
Mr Lufuma who is in Kabompo District to monitor the on-going developmental projects also interacted with the community member in his constituency. He visited the construction of the Mumbeji Police Post constructed using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at a cost of K708 thousand kwacha and a staff house. He stated that the construction of the Mumbeji police post for the community in Mumbeji ward, is a testament to government’s commitment in taking the government services closer to its people.

Kabompo Police Officer In -Change Gift Nguvulu thanked government for the construction of the police post. “We thank the government for the construction of the Mumbeji police post and the staff house as this will enable us to better serve the community better,” Mr Nguvulu said. Mumbeji area councilor Fredrick Nguvulu appreciated government for the construction of a police post in the area as this will help curb crime in the community.
