The allegations emerged during the witness’s cross-examination in the Durban High Court on Friday morning, where Govender and his younger brother, Darren, are on trial for Singh’s murder.
The State alleges the brothers shot Singh dead in Umhlanga on December 29, 2024, after Ferrel discovered the alleged affair. Advocate Mike Hellens SC, representing Govender, put it to the witness that she had not given the court a complete or chronological account of the events of December 22, 2024. “Things didn’t happen the way you describe them.
There is something you are not revealing,” Hellens said. The witness replied: “I told the court what I saw.” Hellens further suggested that when the witness attempted to mediate between Govender andRamrutton/Kisten, the discussions centred on an alleged R8 million separation settlement.
