FCB Nyasa Bullets duo of Babatunde Adepoju and Chikumbutso Salima are tied on 13 goals as the race for the 2025 TNM Super League golden boot goes down to the wire. At stake is a K2 million prize, but in the event of a tie, the joint winners will share the spoils. In a statement yesterday, Super League of Malawi confirmed that the two teammates are joint leading scorers.

Reads the statement: “The golden boot race is on! Chikumbutso Salima and Babatunde Adepoju lead the chart with 13 goals apiece while Zeliat Nkhoma and Dastan Banda remain firmly in the chase. “With the 2025 TNM Super League wrapping up on 27 December, every goal could decide the top scorer crown.” The curtain to the 2025 season will be brought down this Saturday.

The People’s Team host Mzuzu City Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in their final match. Breathing down the duo’s necks is Kamuzu Barracks’ Nkhoma who has 12 goals and with a chance to win the award as his team takes on champions Mighty Wanderers on the same afternoon at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. Bullets interim coach Gilbert Chirwa said he expects the situation to work in his team’s favour as both players will be eager to score to win the golden boot.
