For Tadiwanashe Makuve, better known by his stage name Ginjah T, music and film are more than just entertainment — they are a platform to tell the untold stories of his community and challenge the dominance of a few voices in national conversations “As a people with dreams and aspirations shaped by our culture and an unequal upbringing, our own stories matter most in the affairs of the nation,” the musician told Standard Style The 25-year-old rising star from Murehwa is passionate about creating music and films that reflect social realities and spark dialogue on issues affecting his community and the nation “Music speaks to the masses
By sharing our narratives as youths from Murehwa, we are challenging the status quo that has allowed a few people to dominate public opinion,” Ginjah T said “We want our voices to be heard on matters of national concern.”
His work ranges from club anthems to gospel tracks inspired by his Christian faith “I hope to find a voice that sets me apart, while preaching the gospel of love and strengthening relationships,” he explained “Through dancehall, I compose songs that speak to the youth.”

Later, contemporary stars like Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Freeman inspired him to form his own music crew, SafeZone “Internationally, I looked up to Mavado and Vybz Kartel,” he said “Collaborating with others has also helped me grow.”
While Ginjah T writes most of his songs, he has teamed up with fellow Murehwa creatives such as Justice Nyambipo — known as DJ Phine — and Tanaka Samhu, aka DJ Mayor Born and raised in Murehwa, he attended Murehwa CPS for primary school and Murehwa High for secondary education, before studying film production at Zimbabwe Mirazvo Productions
