Genital Disappearance: Senior Chief Museli orders closure of Kisasa Market for two months

Senior Chief Museli has ordered the closure of Kisasa Market following the killing of a Chingola woman who was attacked by a mob over allegations of causing “genital disappearance.” Addressing hundreds of residents in Kalumbila on Sunday, the traditional leader said no business would be allowed at the market as punishment for the community’s failure to protect a defenceless woman. “I am very disappointed and shocked after the killing of a woman at Kisasa Market after manhood disappearing claims,” Chief Museli said.He questioned why such behaviour had taken root in his chiefdom. “Why should such behaviors be happening here?

They are killing the woman, you are watching and supporting?” he asked. “For this reason, I am giving sanctions effective tomorrow. There will be no operation at Kisasa Market for two good months.

In these two months, we will ensure together with the local authority and other stakeholders to choose a committee that will be able to know its people trading in the market,” the chief said. He said the chiefdom, working with authorities, would begin thorough screening to establish ownership of trading spaces. “We are keeping a lot of criminals around the Kisasa area; they are around here with us, no wonder such strange things are happening in the area,” he claimed.

He stressed that Kisasa itself was not a bad place, adding that the individuals causing chaos were the problem. Kalumbila District Commissioner Brenda Sankisa warned that more arrests were imminent. “Let me assure you that authorities will not end on the arrested eight suspects, but ensure all those who got involved in killing the woman at Kisasa are arrested,” Sankisa vowed.

Earlier, President Hakainde Hichilema ordered thorough investigations into the brutal killing of a Chingola woman, Eneless Kamutumbe, who was slain by a mob in Kalumbila.
