It has been revealed that four families and a former India Minister are among the victims of the Indian plane crash that claimed the lives of 240 people.
Air India has confirmed a catastrophic loss of life after flight AI171, bound for London Gatwick, crashed moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner carried 242 passengers and crew representing multiple nationalities: 169 Indian citizens, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese travellers, and 1 Canadian passenger.
Authorities report the densely populated crash site likely resulted in additional ground casualties. Only one passenger, British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh, survived with injuries requiring hospitalisation.
