FRANCISTOWN – Mochudi Centre Chiefs secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over TAFIC FC in an intense FNB Premiership encounter at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium on November 29. The decisive goal came in the second stanza when Ronaldo Fortune converted from a free kick just outside the box, punishing a costly goalkeeping error by Thabo Dambe. The first half was tightly contested, with both outfits probing for openings but failing to break the deadlock before the interval.

In the second half, Centre Chiefs’s Tshepo Malgas was sent off for rough tackle, leaving his side numerically disadvantaged. TAFIC FC pushed for an equaliser and saw multiple goal claims denied, including a header by Thabiso Bante, ruled out for offside, a decision that ignited frustration among supporters and exchanges between TAFIC FC coaching staff, led by head coach, Blessing Moyo and match officials. Moyo accepted defeat, acknowledging his team’s struggles and vowing to regroup.

β€œWe created chances, but we could not score,” he said, adding that his charges would return stronger next season after addressing key weaknesses. Chiefs’ caretaker tactician, Sekhana Koko lauded his charges for their grit and composure. β€œWe changed our tactics at halftime and it paid off. We could have scored more and we are happy with the win,” he said.ENDS
