In a dramatic turn of events, the former Harvester teacher facing sexual grooming charges is ready to enter into a plea agreement. The 35-year-old former Grade R educator faces charges of sexual grooming of a child and exposing a child to explicit material after she allegedly sent an explicit video to a former Grade 7 learner in June 2025. Proceedings at the Mitchells Plain Regional Court yesterday were set to go to the trial portion of the case, but continued to be delayed as the accused intends to enter into a plea agreement.
In a separate matter of a deadly Facebook Marketplace scam, Morte Nelson, 18, and Ashiekah Naidoo, 23, were joined in the dock at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after both accused abandoned their bid for bail. The court was expected to hear whether a third suspect, Monray Martin, 34, would be joining proceedings after being hospitalised under police guard after being shot in the same incident. According to sources, Martin is scheduled to undergo another surgery.
The trio face charges for the killing of Mogamat Yusuf Daniels following a Facebook Marketplace scam after he was shot on September 24, 2025. Daniels had planned to sell a cellphone to raise funds for his wedding, which was scheduled to take place the following week.
