Rome, Italy, 22 October 2025– Angola’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations agencies in Rome (Italy), Josefa Correia Sacko, reaffirmed that the food system is crucial to achieving sustainable development goals and reducing hunger and malnutrition on the continent.
According to the diplomat, who was speaking at the 53rd Plenary Session of the Committee on Food Security and Nutrition at the high-level forum on strengthening responsible investment and financing, Africa was the only region to present a common position at the 2021 Summit, which included 43 areas for change and associated programmes for the food system.
