The National Commissioner of the Royal Eswatini Police Service, Manoma Vusi Masango, is leading a police delegation on a working visit to Mozambique, where discussions with the country’s police leadership are aimed at strengthening cooperation in addressing cross-border crime and enhancing regional security. Masango is expected to hold bilateral talks with Mozambique’s Police Chief, Inspector General Joaquim Adriano Sive, as part of ongoing efforts by the two countries to deepen collaboration in law enforcement matters. Upon arrival, the delegation was received at the Goba Border Gate by Maputo Provincial Commander Rosario Mitaio, Assistant Commissioner Aina Sualeila Combo from the Maputo Embassy, Assistant Superintendent Caina Nguirande from the Information Cooperation unit and Chief of Immigration Omaro Adriss.

Security units, including Mozambique’s Rapid Intervention Unit and Police Traffic, escorted the delegation from the border to Maputo, where the meetings are taking place. Officials said the discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in tackling transnational organised crime, including illegal immigration, stock theft, smuggling of goods, drug and firearms trafficking, as well as cases involving stolen motor vehicles. The two police services are also expected to explore opportunities for joint operations and coordinated investigations, aimed at improving information sharing and strengthening crime prevention efforts along the borders. The visit is expected to conclude with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two law enforcement agencies, which will further formalise cooperation and enhance collaboration in addressing security challenges affecting the region.
