Gibson Mhaka,Zimpapers Politics HubBINGA District in Matabeleland North Province, previously regarded as marginalised, is currently undergoing a period of massive development being rolled out under the Second Republic.These transformative projects are improving the livelihoods of the locals and attracting high-value investments that are creating jobs, all underpinned by the philosophy of “leaving no one and no place behind.”In a significant stride for the district, the Minister of Energy and Power Development, Cde July Moyo, is expected in Binga on Thursday for the official switch-on ceremony of electricity at three electrified institutions in Mabobolo under Chief Dobola.The ceremony will be held at Mabobolo Primary School.

Minister Moyo will be accompanied by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland North Province, Cde Richard Moyo.This marks another notable advancement in key projects spanning infrastructure, energy, health, and educationMeanwhile, there has been massive progress regarding the implementation of the Binga Development Initiative, a brainchild of President Mnangagwa.This initiative focuses on a number of transformative projects for the district, resonating with the mantra of “Leaving no one and no place behind.”In the education sector, development includes the construction of additional buildings for staff and student welfare at the Binga Industrial Training College, alongside the establishment of two additional Government boarding schools in the district.Significant progress is also evident in health, where the construction of two new clinics at Mabobolo and Manyanda has since been completed.Furthermore, the rehabilitation of the Binga District Mortuary and the donation of two ambulances by His Excellency the President have enhanced local healthcare services.Regarding economic development, key projects such as the establishment of irrigation facilities close to Gwayi-Shangani and the Bulawayo Kraal Irrigation Project have both been completed, effectively boosting agricultural potential.For infrastructure and investment, the rehabilitation of the 1.1 kilometre Binga Airstrip has been finalised.Additionally, the resuscitation of Muchesu Mine, which was commissioned by the President, has so far been successful in attracting international capital investments, thereby unlocking opportunities for communities in the district.Leave a ReplyCancel reply
