Elderly man fatally stabbed, woman injured at Durban park

AN elderly man has been fatally stabbed at Jameson Park in Morningside this morning and the suspect apprehended shortly after the incident, reportsBerea Mail. Ensure Security’s Kyle van Reenen said an elderly woman was also seriously injured in the attack by a suspected homeless man. Van Reenen said multiple private security agencies, including Ensure Security’s Tactical Intervention Unit, attended the scene following reports of a stabbing.

He added response teams located an adult male who had sustained multiple stab wounds. “The victim had suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene by paramedics,” said Van Reenen. “An adult female was also found to have sustained a stab wound to the face.

She was treated and stabilised on scene before further medical arrangements were made. The alleged suspect, believed to be a homeless male, was apprehended at the scene and subsequently detained by members of the South African Police Service for further investigation and processing,” added Van Reenen.
