A Malawian technology entrepreneur has developed a mobile application aimed at improving access to examination revision materials for students, teachers and parents.

The application, called EasyLinks, is available on the Google Play Store and provides users with past examination papers, textbooks, marking keys and syllabi to support exam preparation.

Director of EasyLinks Israel Kondowe said the platform was designed to address challenges learners face in accessing study materials.

“We developed EasyLinks to give students, teachers and parents easy access to past papers, textbooks, marking keys and syllabi so that learners can prepare effectively for their examinations,” Kondowe said.

He said the application supports revision for key national examinations including the Malawi School Certificate of Education, the Junior Certificate of Education and the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education.

The application, which was launched in April last year, currently hosts more than 5,000 past papers and has attracted over 3,000 subscribers.

Users can download the application from the Play Store, install it and register using their email address, after which

they receive a one-time password to activate their account.

Kondowe said the platform was designed with features that accommodate students who may not always have internet access.

“We know that many of our users are students who may not always have internet bundles, so we introduced an offline feature that allows them to download papers when they have internet and study later without being connected,” he said.

The application operates on a subscription model with three tiers: bronze at K2,000 for one month, silver at K4,000 for three months and gold at K6,000 for six months.

Payments are processed within the app through mobile money platforms such as Airtel Money and TNM Mpamba.

Kondowe said the platform also allows users to request specific past examination papers that may not yet be available on the system.

“If a student needs a particular paper that has not yet been uploaded, they can request it and we quickly add it to the platform,” he said.

The company is also developing additional features, including an artificial intelligence-powered tool that will allow students to generate practice tests and receive instant feedback on their performance.

“We have also released our first major update, EasyLinks 2.0, and users are responding positively to the new interface and added features,” Kondowe said.
