He was remanded in custody to August 27 and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Nomsa Kangara told the court that the incident occurred on Tuesday at 107/A Mudyiwa Street, Dzivarasekwa 1.
It is alleged that Katsuri stabbed his son, Clive Kudzaishe Katsiru, during an altercation that began when Clive assaulted his uncle, Denias Katsiru, who is visually impaired.
The court heard that Denias had lent Clive US$1, and when Tinei intervened to stop the assault, a heated exchange broke out between father and son.
The argument turned violent, with Tinei allegedly stabbing Clive in the abdomen.
Clive suffered severe bleeding and was rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said several family members — including Alicia Katsiru, Memory Sopo, Denias Katsiru, and Shalom Katsiru — witnessed the attack.
The knife used in the stabbing, along with bloodstained clothing belonging to the accused, was recovered.
A post-mortem revealed that Clive died from injuries sustained in the stabbing.
