TORONTO – Global rap superstar Drake has confirmed that his much-anticipated ninth studio album,Iceman, will be released tonight at 9 PM Eastern Time.

The announcement came via the rapper’s Instagram, where he shared a graphic simply reading “9PM” alongside confirmation that the album would drop tonight. The timing refers to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), as North America is currently observing daylight saving.

Rumours ofIcemanhave been circulating for months, with Drake teasing the project through cryptic social media posts and icy visuals — including photos featuring iced-out jewellery and references to sports legends George Gervin and Chuck Liddell, both famously nicknamed “Iceman.”

The album’s title also alludes to the Marvel Comics character Iceman, a founding member of the X-Men known for his outspoken nature — a trait Drake seemed to channel in the album’s lead single,What Did I Miss?, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week.

Drake is currently touring Europe on his “$ome $pecial $hows 4 U” tour alongside OVO collaborator PARTYNEXTDOOR, but the surprise release indicates he isn’t taking his foot off the gas.

Fans and critics alike are now speculating whetherIcemanwill include a response to Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping diss trackNot Like Us, which has dominated headlines in recent months.

The full album drops tonight — and answers may come with it.
