Dow’s election to the position marks a significant milestone for both her political journey and women’s representation in the country’s political leadership landscape. Together with deputy secretary general Tebogo Molefe, Dow has successfully entered the party’s top executive structure, strengthening the presence of experienced figures within the BCP leadership.Her achievement also places her among a select group of women who have reached the vice presidency level in a political party in the country. Dow becomes the third woman to hold such a position after Kathleen Letshabo and Same Bathobakae of the Botswana National Front (BNF).

Both Letshabo and Bathobakae achieved the feat at a time when the BNF was still an opposition party, making Dow’s rise within the current political environment another notable development. Although Dow’s political career within the BCP is relatively short, her public profile has been built over decades through her work in the judiciary, government, and politics.
