The initiative is being implemented through the Destiny of Afrika Network National Housing Projects Development Trust (DANHoPDT).In a statement dated December 23, 2025, the organisation said the housing scheme is designed to assist families who are unable to raise lump-sum payments to purchase residential stands or build homes. Under the membership-based model, beneficiaries can pay for their stands over flexible periods ranging from 12 months to five years.The scheme offers residential stands measuring between 200 and 2 000 square metres. In addition, agro residential plots ranging from one to five hectares are planned near strategic cities and towns, forming part of DANet’s broader vision to integrate housing development with agricultural opportunities.DANet said its housing projects are at various stages of development, with some still in the planning phase, others under active construction and several nearing completion.

In some areas, beneficiaries have already started building their homes. Current projects are located in major urban centres including Harare, Bulawayo, Chitungwiza, Chinhoyi, Kadoma, Mutare, Rusape and the Concession area in Mazowe.The organisation further revealed that it is in the process of acquiring additional land for new housing developments in towns such as Gweru, Chegutu, Karoi, Kariba, Hwange, Bindura, Chivhu, Zvishavane, Kwekwe, Gwanda, Shurugwi, Chipinge and Nyanga. DANet said it aims to have housing projects in every town and at all strategic growth points across Zimbabwe by April 2026.According to the trust, more than 78 000 people have already benefited and already residing from its Phase 1, 2 and 3 housing projects and .
The organisation emphasised that it has been operating since 2000 with a strong focus on transparency, noting that there have been no reported cases of beneficiaries losing money. It also highlighted the existence of a clear refund policy for members who choose to withdraw from the scheme.
