Remember Deketeke and Obey MusiwaPRESIDENTIAL Investment Advisor Dr Paul Tungwarara has called on beneficiaries of empowerment funds to use the resources wisely and resist the temptation to politicise the initiative.Speaking at the disbursement of funds to ZANU PF affiliates in Mutare yesterday, Dr Tungwarara described the empowerment initiative as a tool for unity and grassroots economic transformation.He added that the programme reflects President Mnangagwa’s listening leadership and commitment to inclusive development under the mantra “leaving no one and no place behind.”“The funds being disbursed today (yesterday) are not from a faithless Government department; they are a direct investment from His Excellency (President Mnangagwa),” he said.“The President has listened to your struggles, understood your ambitions and he is responding with action.
This programme is not about politics; it is about progress. We must stand as a united force resistant to divisive politics. The involvement of His Excellency is for every citizen who believes in the national vision. Our task is to use these funds to build, not to divide.”Among the beneficiaries were several community-based organisations and associations including the National Multi-Faith Economic Dialogue (NAMFED), which received US$50 000, the Vapostori and VaZion for ED and Children of War Veterans who also got US$50 000 each while Cross-Border Traders for ED, Hairdressers for ED, Health Ambassadors for ED, Boys Dzamudhara, Vendors for ED and Pastors for ED each received US$20 000.
Dr Tungwarara urged beneficiaries to prioritise productivity and accountability, emphasising that the empowerment funds were a revolving facility meant to benefit future recipients as well.“Use these funds exclusively for development purposes,” he said.“If you are a hairdresser, use this to buy more stock. If you are a trader or pastor, initiate a project that creates employment or secures your family’s future.
