Donald Trump Bans 12 Countries Including African Nations From Travelling to US: Here’s the Full List

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a new travel ban restricting entry from 12 countries and partially limiting travel from seven others. He cited threats to national security.

The travel ban is set to take effect on Monday, 9 June at 12:01 AM (05:01 BST).

According to a statement from the White House seen byBBC News, the travel ban is aimed at shielding Americans from what it describes as “dangerous foreign actors.”

The proclamation calls the measures “common sense restrictions” intended to guard national security.

“There are threats emerging around the world,” President Trump said, adding that the list of countries could be revised if “material improvements” are made, or expanded should new threats arise.

The travel ban targets nationals from the following 12 countries, who are now barred from entering the United States:
