Despite the chaos, Bunjira reportedly walked away with only minor bruises and chose not to be admitted, opting instead to stay with injured relatives.
Ambulances rushed the injured to Rusape General Hospital for treatment.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the accident via a statement on their official X account.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi explained that the collision happened around 10:00 AM at the 8 km peg along Rusape-Nyanga Road.
An Isuzu pickup carrying three passengers attempted to overtake a bus while a BMW, driven by Bunjira with a passenger, was approaching.
The two vehicles collided head-on, killing two passengers in the Isuzu.
