The suspect linked to the murder of slain media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock will remain in custody after he was denied bail in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Victor Mthethwa Majola appeared in court facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder following his arrest on December 22, 2025. Stock was fatally shot on December 16 outside a building near the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg’s central business district.

It is believed he was approached by three unknown suspects who opened fire before fleeing the scene on foot. In delivering her ruling, the magistrate found that Majola had failed to satisfy the court that he should be released on bail. “The applicant submitted two conflicting addresses,” she said.

The court also raised concerns about video footage submitted as part of Majola’s bail application, finding it to be unreliable. “What I have noted from the video footage, it is not clear. It is blurry and blacked out,” the magistrate remarked.
