Destiny for Africa Network (DANet) founder, Reverend Obadiah Musindo, has lauded President Emmerson Mnangagwa for what he described as unwavering and progressive support towards churches across the country, saying the Head of State has demonstrated true national leadership by safeguarding freedom of worship and recognising the pivotal role of religious institutions. “We would like to express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, for the unwavering support extended to us as churches.

His steadfast commitment to safeguarding freedom of worship is highly commendable,” he said. He also praised the President for honouring notable Christian leaders, including Mutumwa Archbishop Paul Mwazha, who was recently declared a National Hero. Mwazha becomes the second religious leader to receive such recognition in the Second Republic.

“Honouring Archbishop Paul Mwazha with National Hero status speaks volumes. The President clearly understands the critical role played by churches, and this acknowledgement carries deep significance for us,” Reverend Musindo said. Representing a wide array of denominations under DANet—including apostles, bishops, prophets, evangelists, youth leaders, women’s ministries and men’s fellowships—Musindo emphasised that his remarks reflect the collective appreciation of the Christian community.

“To the President, we say thank you wholeheartedly. His actions show that he does not undervalue the contributions made by church leaders across the nation,” he added. Musindo further said the President’s posture demonstrated a strong nationalistic vision aligned with the country’s developmental agenda.

“By granting National Hero status to religious leaders, the President is effectively saying: what you are doing is vital. You are shaping the destiny of this nation and helping advance Vision 2030,” he said. He urged pastors and church leaders to reciprocate the President’s inclusive leadership by supporting his call for unity and development.

“The President has shown that he is leaving no one and no place behind. No religious sector has been excluded. His approach is inclusive, and church leaders must accord him the respect he deserves,” he said.

Musindo added that churches should acknowledge that the President fully recognises their societal role. “He is the leader of politicians, the leader of churches, the leader of all citizens. He has extended his appreciation, support and recognition to every denomination,” he said. Reverend Musindo concluded by calling on Christians to rally behind the President and embrace his national vision.
