THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested two businessmen from Garden House in Lusaka for allegedly stealing K749,430.00 belonging to the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS). DEC says the suspects, Edward Mulenga and Patrick Phiri subsequently engaged in money laundering activities by purchasing household goods, paying for school fees, rentals and company logistics for their own private company. In a statement, DEC Public Relations Officer Allan Tamba said the arrests were made by the DEC’s Anti-Money Laundering Investigations Unit (AMLIU).
