A FARM manager at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), Itai Zengeni, is on the run after allegedly defrauding the university of US$17,253. Jairos Makosa, a supervisor at the university’s Medicinal Feed Factory, has also been sucked into the scandal. Gifford Chikuya, the acting director of Marketing and Public Relations at CUT, confirmed the case to H-Metro.

“It is true that a case of fraud was committed but the person who committed the fraud is at large,” said Chikuya. Makosa, who stays in Chitungwiza, revealed how they orchestrated fraudulent cash transactions involving the sale of beef fattening feed. The shady transactions started on January 31, last year, and involved a US$680 sale.

Makosa said they sold 40x50kg bags of beef fattening feed to a man identified as Mr Sabau. Makosa told H-Metro they were questioned by Campus Protection Services personnel.
