The two media figures, both prominent in Zambia’s entertainment and broadcasting circles, sat quietly and avoided interaction as proceedings unfolded before Magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula on Tuesday. Mwanza is charged with using electronic communication to harass Ms. Mwansa, in violation of Section 69 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
It is alleged that on November 7, 2024, she used her Facebook page, M-Nation, to intimidate, harass, and cause emotional distress to Ms. Her defence lawyer, Kingsley Malupenga, requested more time before his client could enter a formal plea. “We would like to receive adequate instructions from our client with respect to the plea taken before this court.
We therefore seek the shortest adjournment to a later date,” he submitted. The allegations include claims that Mwanza published disparaging remarks about Ms. Lusumpa and insinuated that she had been involved with a named politician—accusations Mwanza denies.

The prosecution did not oppose the adjournment request. Magistrate Sinvula subsequently postponed the matter to February 6, 2026, directing that the two state witnesses who were present be placed on warning to attend on the new date.
