Kweneng District Council will tomorrow kickstart an activation event dubbed: Tlatsa Bus Renke, as part of the efforts to transform the facility into a vibrant hub and market for small businesses. Following the reopening of the Molepolole bus rank in December last year, council authorities are determined to turn the facility into a success story. The bus rank will tomorrow, be a hive of activity as it hosts an activation event dubbed: Tlatsa Bus Renke, designed to transform the facility into a vibrant hub and market for small businesses.
The initiative, spearheaded by Kweneng District Council chairperson, Mr Ontefetse Rankhibidu, aims to encourage residents to embrace the bus rank’s potential. Mr Rankhibidu said the event could mark a turning point in revitalising the use of the open space at the bus rank as a market for small businesses. He described Tlatsa Bus Renke as a family fun day packed with activities including horse racing, quad bike rides, children’s games, aerobics and live performances from choirs and folklore guitarists.
“We have about fifteen artists, mostly Molepolole natives, who volunteered to perform. Their participation shows that if residents unite, this bus rank can be fully utilised and the memories of its abandonment erased,” Mr Rankhibidu said. He said the entertainment lineup would feature a blend of established names and emerging talent including Phempheretlhe, Scar, Ditiro, Tinnere, Ju-Matere, Ali Basha, Bafenyi, Ras Lista, Afro Convicts, Dikopane, Mokwepa, Kwena Madiba, Alpha, Still Growing, Ntsweng Classic Pantsolas, Kgweba, Macrona, Mmurubele and King Infa C.
