The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has ruled that clergyman, John Nundwe, has a case to answer in a rape matter, placing him on his defence after the prosecution closed its case. Nundwe, leader of Miracle Impact Ministries International Church, is accused of raping a married congregant who had sought spiritual intervention for recurrent miscarriages. Court proceedings indicate that the matter came to light when the woman’s husband allegedly found the pastor at their home under suspicious circumstances.
Magistrate Army Masoja ruled that the State had provided sufficient evidence requiring the accused to respond to the allegations, thus committing him to enter his defence. The case has been adjourned to April 21, 2026, for continuation of trial.
