Citizen League Organization (CLO) has reaffirmed its stance that it will be closely scrutinizing the sworn-in MPs in Chikwawa district to ensure they achieve their promises.
Francis Mazinga, Chief Executive Officer of CLO, an organization that bridges citizens to authority, made the remarks following the notable past trend that most members of Parliament commit to failing to consult the people in their respective constituencies.
âWe urge the MPs to hold consultative meetings with the people in the constituencies. That helps to avoid top-down development initiatives that do not necessarily address the needs of the people,â said Mazinga.

Mazinga also noted that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) can prove instrumental if properly managed in transforming Malawi.
Meanwhile, the Malawi National Assemblyâs 52nd session is scheduled to be officially opened on Friday, 31 October, by the President of Malawi, Professor Peter Mutharika.
