HARARE – Citizens leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has sparked renewed speculation about his next political move after issuing a cryptic but hopeful message to his supporters on Wednesday, assuring them that big developments are on the horizon.
In a brief statement posted online, Chamisa said:“It has been a busy July. Preparing for the bigger task ahead. You will never be disappointed.”
Though he did not elaborate on the nature of the “bigger task,” the remarks have fueled speculation that the opposition figure may soon launch a new political formation or re-enter the political arena more formally following his departure from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) earlier this year.
Political observers have been closely watching Chamisa’s moves, especially as the political landscape continues to shift amid growing discontent over economic instability, corruption, and public sector collapse.
Supporters welcomed the message as a sign that Chamisa is regrouping and re-strategising.
Many interpreted it as a signal of intent to challenge the ruling ZANU PF more aggressively ahead of 2028 or earlier political developments.
Chamisa’s message comes amid mounting pressure for him to give clarity on his future after months of silence.
