Ambitious opposition party Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC) has announced it will officially launch on September 13, 2025, with an event scheduled to take place in Harare from 9am to 11am While the exact venue is yet to be disclosed, the launch is already stirring interest and debate about its potential to disrupt Zimbabwe’s entrenched political order In a statement inviting Zimbabweans to attend the event, the party said:“We, the Freedom Fighters for Change (FFC), cordially invite you to our official party launch on September 13, 2025 Be part of this historic moment as we claim our country back
Let’s unite for a better Zimbabwe.”
Highlights of the launch include:
Appointment of Interim Leaders – to introduce the team spearheading the movement;
Party Manifesto Launch – outlining a roadmap for justice, prosperity, and equity;
A keynote address by FFC President Michael Makaza, who will lay out his vision for national renewal Makaza has quickly emerged as a voice of discontent among Zimbabwe’s frustrated electorate, particularly the youth His message — amplified through the hashtag #WeMove — calls for a new era of transparent governance and citizen empowerment But the core question lingers: Can this new political outfit actually challenge and dismantle ZANU PF’s decades-long dominance
ZANU PF’s control over state structures, media, and electoral mechanisms presents a formidable challenge Most new opposition parties struggle to gain meaningful traction beyond launch events and slogans Source: Zimeye
