CAAB struggling to unlock value from its idle airstrips

The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana(CAAB) under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure(MTI) is currently struggling to unlock value especially in tourism from a significant number of its air strips across the country.

The air strips are lying idle and failing to meet compliance due to insufficient funds. This was revealed by the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of CAAB Bao Rasebolai Mosinyi in a panel discussion during the Tourism Pitso in Francistown when sharing how their policies can impact on tourism.
