A SERIAL convict, who made headlines when he rejected community service and chose to spend another five months in jail, is actually a promising RAPPER. Hwete is also a budding musician who has given himself the stage name ‘Liquid Yonke’. Hidden beneath his amazing story, of rejecting community service and choosing to spend time in jail again, two years after his release, was a glimpse of his prowess as a rapper.

Hwete told the magistrate that he would prefer time in jail, again, after being convicted of stealing an iPhone 17 Pro Max, the latest in the iPhone family, because he wanted to concentrate on composing more songs. He claims he can compose as many as 20 songs a day. But, it was his ability to rap which was quite impressive.

Of course Hwete, who is set to be released on July 4, has a dark past. He said when he was released from prison two years ago, after being convicted for drugs, he vowed he would not return there again. But, he said, there were too many temptations in this world.
