PRESIDENT Mnangagwa is expected to have a busy schedule in Gweru today where he will preside over two high-profile events that underline the Government’s development priorities and Zanu PF’s internal capacity-building efforts.

He is scheduled to lead the National Clean-Up Campaign in the city, with activities expected to take place at OK Supermarket.

Launched in 2018, the clean-up is held on the first Friday of every month to promote environmental hygiene, public health and a sense of collective responsibility among citizens.

The initiative has become a flagship programme of the Second Republic, encouraging communities, businesses and local authorities to work together in maintaining clean and orderly surroundings.

President Mnangagwa’s participation is expected to draw large crowds, as residents seize the opportunity to witness the Head of State engaging directly in community work.

Later in the day, the President is scheduled to officially open the Zanu PF Central Committee members’ seminar, which is being held in Gweru.

The seminar brings together senior party officials from across the country and focuses on strengthening leadership capacity, policy implementation and alignment with the national development agenda.

The gathering provides a platform for the party’s top leadership to deliberate on key socio-economic and political issues, while reinforcing unity and strategic direction within the ruling party.

In an interview yesterday, the Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Owen Ncube, said the province was honoured to host President Mnangagwa for the two important engagements.

“We are excited to be graced by President Mnangagwa, here in Gweru. He is expected to lead the Presidential Clean-Up Campaign before officially opening the Zanu PF Central Committee members’ seminar, which kicked off yesterday,” said Minister

He said the President’s visit highlighted his commitment to grassroots development, environmental stewardship and the strengthening of leadership structures in line with Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.
