SHE may not have brought home the Miss Supranational crown to Zimbabwe but Nicole Nyawera has returned home a national heroine. For a contestant making her international pageant debut, many believe Nicole achieved what few expected, proving Zimbabwe has what it takes to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s beauty powerhouses.The crown eventually went to the Philippines’ Katrina Llegado, while Brazil, the Czech Republic, France and Nigeria completed the Top Five. Yet back home, many fans insisted Nicole had already won their hearts long before the final announcement.

Behind the scenes, those close to the beauty queen believe the world has only seen the first chapter of Nicole Nyawera.
