Addressing delegates, he stressed that the Central Committee had exercised patience for some time, engaging errant members in an effort to correct their conduct. However, those efforts, he noted, have failed to yield positive results. Consequently, the party is now prepared to act firmly.
“I cannot lead an organisation where there is serious indiscipline and tolerate members who insult elders or the party leadership,” Balopi said emphatically. “The BDP has never been associated with such conduct, and there is no way it can be allowed to continue.” Furthermore, Balopi underscored the importance of restoring the party’s core principles. He emphasised that tolerance and respect must prevail within the BDP rather than the current trend of internal hostility.

According to him, the party has a long-established culture that binds both members and leaders, and adherence to that culture is non-negotiable. In addition, he warned that some individuals appear intent on sowing division within the party or introducing behaviours that are foreign to its traditions.
Such actions, he argued, threaten the unity and stability of the organisation, particularly at a time when cohesion is critical.
