Arsenal were held to a dramatic 2–2 draw by bottom club Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday surrendering a two-goal advantage in stoppage time to see the Premier League leaders slip valuable points in their title bid. The Gunners arrived in the West Midlands sitting well clear at the top of the Premier League table, aiming to extend their cushion over Manchester City. Wolves, rooted to the foot of the standings, were desperate for a rare result as they battle to climb away from the relegation zone.

Arsenal struck early with purpose, and their plan paid off when Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 5th minute, ending a long personal drought and giving north London the perfect start against a stubborn hosts side. Gunner’s dominance continued into the second half as Piero Hincapié doubled the lead in the 56th minute, powering home his first goal for the club and seemingly putting the points beyond Wolves’ reach. But Wolves refused to capitulate, midway through the second half Hugo Bueno curled a stunning effort into the top corner, giving the hosts life and reducing the deficit much to the delight of the packed Molineux crowd.

From there the contest opened up, with both sides pushing for a winner, Arsenal wary of losing their grip, and Wolves pressing with belief as the minutes ticked down towards full time. According toSky Sports, the defining moment arrived in the 94th minute when debutant Tom Edozie’s effort deflected off Riccardo Calafiori and past David Raya, sparking wild celebrations as Wolves snatched a dramatic leveller on home soil. The draw is a setback for Arsenal’s title ambitions, as they dropped points with Manchester City waiting to pounce in the standings, tightening up the Premier League’s top end of the table.
