FOUR armed robbers raided Celebration Church in Westgate and stole US$500 and two laptops. The robbers were armed with a pistol and a rifle. They managed to blast open a safe and stole US$500.

During the heist, they overpowered two security guards, binding their hands and legs using wires and electrical cables, before locking them in the guard room. After securing the guards, the robbers proceeded to the church’s office, where they used an unidentified tool to gain entry into the office. Inside, they broke a steel cabinet, retrieved a cash safe containing US$500 and two HP laptops.

They searched the guards and stole US$30 and two Itel cellphones. It wasn’t until a Safeguard driver arrived later that they were freed. Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.
