Sources indicate that he had been stalking the daughter of his former partner in the days leading up to the alleged incidents.
The first alleged rape occurred on August 2nd, 2025, at approximately 8 pm.
The Grade 5 girl was on her way to collect water from a communal borehole when she encountered Blessing.
According to reports, Blessing allegedly seized the opportunity, dragging her to a nearby unfinished building where he is accused of raping her once, without using protection.
Following the alleged assault, Blessing reportedly offered the young victim US$2, which she refused.
He then allegedly threatened her with violence if she were to disclose the incident to anyone.
Fearing for her safety, the girl remained silent.
Tragically, the nightmare repeated itself just over a week later.
On August 10th, 2025, again around 8 pm, the girl left her house to gather plastics for a fire when she once again crossed paths with Blessing.
In a chilling repeat of the previous incident, he allegedly forced her into another nearby uncompleted house and raped her once more, without protection.
He then disappeared into the darkness, leaving the traumatised girl to dress herself.
The victim’s ordeal was eventually brought to light when she returned home.
Her mother, noticing her daughter’s prolonged absence, questioned her about the delay.
The girl remained silent, unable to voice the horrors she had endured.
However, the mother’s suspicions were aroused when she noticed grass on her daughter’s back and discovered what appeared to be semen in her underwear.
Acting swiftly, the mother immediately took her daughter to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) station in Dzivaresekwa, where the girl finally disclosed the rapes.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case and appealed to the public for assistance in apprehending the suspect. “Police are investigating a rape involving a juvenile and her mother’s ex-boyfriend,” Insp Chakanza stated. “The accused person is still at large, and the complainant was escorted to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical attention. ”
The police are urging anyone with information that may lead to Blessing’s arrest to come forward and assist with the investigation.
