Another senior municipal official nabbed by Madlanga task team

Another senior municipal official attached to the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality was arrested on Sunday morning. This arrest follows that of suspended Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi, who was arrested by the SAPS Madlanga Commission Task Team at his Gauteng home on Saturday morning.

The 40-year-old official faces the same charges as Mkhwanazi of fraud, corruption and defeating and or obstructing the ends of justice. National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said in a statement that both suspects will appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, April 20.
