HARARE – The dazzling grandeur of the Rainbow Towers became a sanctuary of diplomatic elegance and spiritual fervor as the Destiny of Africa Network (DANET) hosted a high-level valedictory dinner.
The gala was held to honor the retiring Assistant Commissioner and Chaplain General of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), Rev. Dr. Muchanyerei, following his prestigious appointment to a new leadership role within the United Methodist Church in the United Kingdom.

In what is already being hailed as the “Event of the Year” for early 2026, the evening was a masterclass in hospitality management and ecumenical synergy.
DANET Founder and President, Dr. Rev. Msindo, displayed an appealing gesture of “Mwanawenyu” (son of the soil) spirit, curating an atmosphere that seamlessly blended government protocol with Christian fellowship.
The event kicked off with a disruptive, high-octane performance by the ZPCS Prison Band. Their hilarious yet musically sophisticated set broke the ice, proving that correctional excellence extends far beyond the prison walls into the realm of world-class entertainment.
The guest list read like a Who’s Who of Zimbabwean society. Resplendent in sartorial elegance, government ministers and top officials arrived in style, joined by a powerful contingent of Church Bishops and Pastors.

The Deputy Minister of Women Affairs delivered an immaculate keynote address, stating, “We are proud of our son, Rev. Dr. Muchanyerei. He goes as an ambassador of our values to a foreign land, and we shall continue to cherish his legacy.”
The aesthetic of the night was defined by dignified dressing. The DANET crew, under Rev. Msindo’s meticulous eye, showcased a uniform sense of “dignified professionalism,” reflecting the high-level tourism and hospitality standards of the Rainbow Towers.
The auditory landscape was equally lush. Renowned gospel icons including Kudzi Nyakudya, Bethan Pasinawako, Tendai Dembo, and Obert Chari performed soul-stirring sets, masterfully mixed by the legendary producer Lighton Ngolomi.
The music served as a “liturgical bridge,” connecting the chaplain’s past service to his global future.Rev. Msindo’s ability to host such high-level dignitaries—balancing the solemnity of a government event with the warmth of a Christian farewell—was truly par excellent.
By honoring Dr. Muchanyerei’s transition to the UK, DANET has not only celebrated a man of God but has also strengthened the “soft power” of Zimbabwean faith on the international stage.
